W. D. Construction is about to celebrate its 30th anniversary in a few months.  A family owned business, James Peirce began the business in 1977 after working for another construction company for 4 years doing estimating and running multi-million dollar school projects.  The business began in commercial work and has grown to include residential jobs as well. James’ son, Victor (Tory) is the field supervisor and is set to take over the business in the next year.  Says Tory, “I build a house as if it were to be my own.  That has always been my approach to building.  Dollar for dollar, I know the owner or buyer has purchased the very best house they can get.”

James’ wife, Diane, handles all of the financial parts of the business and has done so for the past 30 years, even while she was a fulltime teacher in the county! Tory’s wife, Gina, is the office secretary.
